Philosophy

Maison au Coucher du Soleil was established in 1972 to provide a service to the community for those that were not able to live independently. The service provided is to encourage normalization and integration into the community by accepting individuals as they are and supporting them in their efforts to reach their highest achievable potential.

Policies and procedures reflect our purpose and how to proceed with the residents' best interest in mind. The approach used in staff orientation is with emphasis on confidentiality and treating residents with respect and dignity, always maintaining a homelike environment in each facility.

The multidisciplinary team participates in the development of programs focusing on support and normalization for integration into the community. Programs are developed to support individuals in attaining personal goals and reaching ones potential according to ones abilities.

Maison au Coucher du Soleil expands its services to the community to meet the needs of those requiring day care, Meals on Wheels and Wheels to Meals.
